Cricket Australia; national insurance scheme for amateur cricket
Cricket Australia came to JLT Sport to develop a scheme to cover every registered cricket club, player, official and member and reduce spiraling insurance costs and problems caused by inadequate insurance.
Working with Cricket Australia we developed the National Club Insurance Programme which now provides cover to 4,500 cricket clubs and 315,000 cricketers throughout Australia – with estimated savings of $AUD500,000.
JLT Sport developed a web-based servicing platform to deliver the insurance programme. The website provides detailed information about all aspects of the available cover and the application processes, and gives Cricket Australia vital insights into its participant base.
The cover available to every club, player, official and member extended to the following benefits:

- Club management liability
- Death and capital benefits
- Non NHS expenses, e.g. physiotherapy
- Loss of income
